I loved Halloween and going out in the dark to trick or treat. We were only allowed to go to houses where people knew us and could try to guess who we were. For costumes we went into the attic and found old clothes to wear. There weren't costumes bought at stores. We had an old skirt that had witches on it - I have no idea where it came from - and that was my favorite thing to wear. There was also a town parade for Halloween and it was a simple event with grown-ups and children alike wearing their costumes and walking down main street. I loved seeing the creativity of the costumes and that adults would have just as much fun as the children.
